Michael Helge Ronnestad, PhD, is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Oslo, Norway. Thomas M. Skovholt, PhD, ABPP, is Professor of Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology at the University of Minnesota. This phase of Ronnestad and Skovholt's model involves the counselor engaged in practice for a number of years in which he or she has worked with a range of clients in a variety of settings.
